Orondo runs along the east side of the Columbia on Highway 97, directly across the river from Entiat and about fifteen minutes south of the Beebe Bridge into Chelan. The shoreline here is broad and sunny—the east bank catches afternoon light off the water—and it holds some of the most usable river frontage in the valley: gently sloped lots, sandy coves, and full-time moorage on a reservoir that doesn't draw down.
Orondo buyers tend to be boaters and families who want space. Sun Cove, on a protected bay, is the established waterfront community with a marina, pool, golf and a mix of cabins and newer homes. Around it are orchard estates and larger acreage parcels with river frontage—the kind of property that no longer exists on Lake Chelan at any price. Daroga State Park and Orondo River Park anchor the public shoreline, and the Chelan wineries, Mission Ridge and Wenatchee are all within thirty minutes.
